davidji is an internationally recognized meditation expert, stress-management counselor, corporate trainer and author of the award-winning Secrets of Meditation: A Practical Guide to Inner Peace & Personal Transformation. He created the 21-day meditation challenge, and his voice can be heard on more than 300 guided meditations, including the best-selling CD Fill What is Empty; Empty What is Full and the Ayurvedic opera Journey to Infinity, made with sound healers SacredFire.
He came to teaching after a 20-year career in business, finance, and mergers and acquisitions, when he began a new journey to wholeness through meditation. He apprenticed under Drs. Deepak Chopra and David Simon, serving as the Chopra Center COO, Lead Educator and then as the first Dean of Chopra Center University. There he trained more than 200,000 people to meditate. He has since left the Chopra Center to travel the world, teaching the practical integration of meditation, mindfulness, conscious choice making, and ancient wisdom into modern, real-world life. He is a certified Vedic Master.
davidji has certified more than 1,000 meditation teachers from around the world. Many of them hold additional specialties such as yoga, reiki, sound healing and trauma recovery. He approaches meditation with a spirit of play, aiming to make it fun and easy enough that people actually want to practice. On his YouTube channel he says there are many paths to oneness and that he celebrates them all.
He has a passion for working with people in high-pressure situations, including members of the military, special forces, law enforcement, business leaders, and those in crisis. He developed the Blue Courage Awareness Training curriculum, which teaches police throughout the U.S. present-moment life tools for safety, nobility, resilience and guardianship. His teachings on stress release, conflict resolution, and mindfulness are practiced in some of the largest precincts and police academies in the country.
He has also written candidly about his own past, including how a humor-based persona built in childhood kept him from showing his authentic self. He explores that story of rebirth further in his book Sacred Powers.
Worth Knowing
davidji is a meditation teacher, stress-management counselor, and author who transitioned from a 20-year career in corporate finance into teaching contemplative practice—a pivot that gives his work a distinctly practical edge. His apprenticeship under Deepak Chopra and David Simon at the Chopra Center, where he served as Lead Educator and first Dean of the Center's university, positioned him at the intersection of ancient Vedic wisdom and contemporary wellness training. What resonates with his students is that davidji treats meditation not as a rarefied spiritual pursuit but as a tool for real-world resilience—he's equally comfortable teaching Fortune 500 executives stress-management techniques as he is guiding law enforcement through present-moment awareness via his Blue Courage Awareness Training curriculum. He has certified over 1,000 meditation teachers worldwide and created the widely-used 21-day meditation challenge, which lowered the barrier to entry for people skeptical about sitting practice. His voice appears on more than 300 guided meditations available on streaming platforms, making him one of the most accessible voices in the contemporary meditation teacher ecosystem. Beyond corporate and law-enforcement work, davidji has also written candidly about his own psychological rebirth, particularly in his book Sacred Powers, which explores how persona and humor kept him from authenticity—a narrative that appeals to seekers interested in meditation as therapy rather than philosophy.
