Yoga Teacher · Sweden
Jennie Wadsten Sharma is a yoga teacher, trainer and founder of YogaLeela, born in Sweden in 1977. She fell in love with yoga in 1997 and has taught since 2005. For many years she worked full time as an accountant in the IT and media sector, until her passion for yoga took over. In 2005 she founded YogaLeela, and she has been working full time as a yoga teacher and business consultant since then.
For Jennie, teaching yoga is about helping people cultivate awareness, self-compassion and strength, and then take those qualities into everyday life. Her style is warm, enthusiastic and encouraging, and draws on extensive knowledge of anatomy and psychology. She is passionate about how yoga can balance the nervous system and help us feel centred under stress, so that everyday decisions line up with what matters to us. She believes there are many truths in yoga and that what is right is individual. Her intention is to guide students in communicating with their bodies and minds. In her words: "Yoga doesn't TAKE time. It GIVES time."
Her main styles are Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga, Vinyasa flow, slow flow, Hatha, Virya, Ashtanga vinyasa, restorative yoga, mindfulness, pranayama and meditation. She has also trained in Anusara yoga, Ayurvedic yoga massage, nutrition and anatomy. She is studying psychology, mainly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and how yoga affects mental health. In 2026 she is focusing on trauma informed yoga and on yoga and neuroscience. She is E-RYT 500 and a YACEP with Yoga Alliance, a Trauma Informed Yoga teacher, a Senior Teacher with Yoga Professionals UK, and a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She is also co-author of two bestselling books about Yoga Nidra.
From 2012 to 2015 Jennie managed the Brahmani Yoga drop-in centre at Tito's in North Goa. In 2016 she moved to South Goa. She now runs retreats, workshops and teacher trainings in several European countries, teaches at studios and corporate events, mainly in Sweden, and is one of the senior teachers on the advanced teacher training at The Shala, London. She is based in Goa, India and Stockholm, Sweden.
