Between Sounds

Between Sounds is a recording and music production studio based in Buckfastleigh, Devon, founded by Michiel de Koning. He is a keyboard player, composer and music producer with over 15 years of experience across pop, soul, jazz, meditation and sound design.

At the studio, Michiel guides musicians from a first demo to a finished recording. He works with singer-songwriters, groups, bands, choirs and voice artists, and specialises in acoustic music. The aim is to capture a pure and raw performance, which he does by getting it right at the source with quality instruments, microphones and an inspiring space. His services include recording, mixing, arranging and songwriting, and composition and sound design for film, meditation and podcasts.

Michiel has worked with songwriters and composers. He has also released his own albums and compositions for meditation, film and other media. Clients describe him as patient and dedicated, and they praise his mixing and the setting of the studio.

Between Sounds is also a collaborative project between Michiel and yoga teacher and mindfulness retreat facilitator Jessica Stein. Together they create relaxing guided meditations and poetic seasonal meditations for rest and relaxation.
