Meditation Retreat
Description
This silent-leaning meditation retreat at Drala Mountain Center in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, is led by Caverly Morgan and Tracee Stanley. It is a week of quiet reflection, yoga nidra, mindful movement and contemplative inquiry, for anyone who wants to slow down, listen deeply and rest in the natural world. Beginners and experienced practitioners are both welcome.
What to Expect
The retreat runs six days, with arrival on the first afternoon between 2:00 and 5:00 PM at the Guest Services Cabin. The opening brings a welcome, orientation and an opening circle that introduces the rhythm of the retreat. The middle days weave together morning silence, meditation and gentle movement, with time for journaling, creative practice and self-inquiry. Yoga nidra offers deep rest, and walking meditation and earth dreaming practices honor the land. Dharma talks explore stillness and nondual wisdom, and a tea ritual and periods of contemplative silence round out the days. Evenings include reflection and communal gatherings.
The final morning holds practice, a closing session and an integration dialogue about carrying practices into daily life. Departure is at 12:30 PM. Morning movement is gentle and accessible, and the aim is to leave with simple, sustainable tools for rest, presence and meeting uncertain times.

The Setting
Drala Mountain Center sits in an alpine landscape near Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. Some campgrounds were affected by a recent wildfire, and the effects may still be visible, though they are safe to use. Lodging is chosen at checkout and ranges from car camping in primitive spots (no water or electric hookups) and shared tents, to dormitories, monk rooms, private single and double rooms with their own bathrooms, and junior suites with a queen bed and a bathtub. Platform tents are only available from late May through early September. Those who prefer to stay off-site can commute or arrange their own lodging.
Three meals a day and drinks are provided, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
Before You Go
No prior experience is needed. Tuition covers all sessions and teachings, six nights of lodging, meals and drinks, and use of the center's facilities and bathhouses. Extra nights can be added at a reduced rate. Transportation is not included. If you choose a tent, bring your own twin sheets, a blanket or sleeping bag, a pillow and towels.
