Description
Yoga at The Dalí is a vinyasa yoga workshop in St. Petersburg, Florida, held in a museum devoted to the surreal. The practice is unhurried and attentive, with breath guiding movement while the waterfront and Salvador Dalí's imagination sit just beyond the mat. If you have wanted a Sunday morning that wakes the body and quiets the mind before you walk among paintings, this is that pairing.
Classes are led by Lucky Cat Yoga on the third Sunday of each month, in the Raymond James Community Room or the Avant-garden, both with waterfront views. Meditation teacher Dali is part of the listing. The approach is all-levels, and students are encouraged to awaken and sustain their practice at their own pace, whether this is your first class or your thousandth.
What to Expect
The hour follows a clear arc:
- Breath work and warm-up to arrive in the body and settle the mind.
- Flowing vinyasa postures, where movement is linked to breath, with modifications and ways to deepen as needed.
- Meditation to turn attention inward.
- A resting close for relaxation and integration.
There is no fixed pace to keep up with. The emphasis is on meeting the body, breath and mind as they are today. Afterward, the museum is yours to explore, and gallery admission is half-price on the day you attend class.
About Dali
Dali is an accredited meditation teacher with the British School of Meditation and has been teaching since 2022. Born and raised in the North East of England, he is well travelled and now calls London home.
He was introduced to meditation in India, a country close to his heart, and soon realised he wanted to teach and share what he had experienced, in the hope that meditation could help others as it has helped him. His approach is generally secular while borrowing from Buddhism and other belief systems and philosophies. He focuses on removing the barriers people meet in daily life, so that peace, calm and happiness have the best chance of being present.
Venue & Logistics
The class takes place at The Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, in the Raymond James Community Room or the Avant-garden. Bring your own yoga mat, as the museum does not supply them.
