Description
Yoga at The Dalí invites you onto the mat in a place where imagination is part of the architecture. On a Sunday morning in St. Petersburg, Florida, this all-levels vinyasa class gathers inside The Dalí Museum, where Salvador Dalí's energy meets yoga's physical, mental and spiritual inspiration. The rooms look out over the water.
The class is led by Lucky Cat Yoga, and it assumes no prior experience. Students are encouraged to awaken and sustain their practice at their own pace. Meditation teacher Dali is also part of this event. If you are looking for yoga in St. Petersburg that feels spacious and unhurried, this monthly class is a good place to begin.
What to Expect
The class runs for one hour and follows a vinyasa approach suited to every level. Over that time you can expect:
- Basic breath work to settle the mind and body
- Postures that link movement with breath
- Meditation
- Time set aside for relaxation
The Lucky Cats welcome a full range of bodies and backgrounds, so you can move as your body allows. Classes are held in the Raymond James Community Room or the Avant-garden, both with waterfront views. You leave having moved, breathed and rested in a setting that is part gallery, part waterfront retreat.
About Dali
Dali is an accredited meditation teacher with the British School of Meditation and has been teaching since 2022. Born and raised in the North East of England, he is well travelled and now calls London home. He was introduced to meditation in India, a country close to his heart, and soon realised he wanted to teach and share his experiences, in the hope that meditation could help others as it has helped him.
His approach is generally secular, borrowing from Buddhism and other belief systems and philosophies. He focuses on removing the barriers people come up against in daily life, so that peace, calm and happiness have the best chance of being present.
Venue & Logistics
The class takes place at The Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, in the Raymond James Community Room or the Avant-garden. Please bring your own yoga mat, as the museum does not supply them. Arrive early to allow time for parking and admission. Doors close promptly at 9:15 AM, and no entry is permitted after that time.
Tickets are $10 for museum members and $15 for non-members. Choose your date and continue to checkout to register. All sales are final, with no exchanges or refunds. If you attend on the same day, you can visit the museum's galleries at half price. First-time students are asked to print and sign a waiver, which should be updated once a year. The class meets on the third Sunday of each month.
