Yoga Teacher Training
Description
Yoga Nidra is often called the sleep of yogis: a way of letting the body rest completely while awareness stays quietly awake. In this online Yoga Nidra teacher training, Anna Hahn guides you through the practice from the inside first, then shows you how to lead it for others.
Developed in the mid-twentieth century by Swami Satyananda Saraswati from tantric sources, Yoga Nidra follows a systematic sequence toward physical, emotional and mental release. The aim is a state between waking and sleep, associated with alpha and theta brainwaves, where deeper layers of awareness become reachable. This 23-unit training is for yoga teachers, coaches, trainers, teachers, therapists and people in healing professions who want to bring this practice into their work, whether in one-to-one sessions, groups or yoga classes.
It takes place live on Zoom from Germany, in a limited group, over a weekend followed by a shorter weekday evening session. You do not need a regular Yoga Nidra practice to take part. Openness and interest in self-inquiry, spiritual practice and expanded awareness are what the course asks for.
What to Expect
The training weaves theory and practice together. You will experience Yoga Nidra yourself in shared practice, and you will also learn how it is built and why it works.
- What Yoga Nidra is, its origins and its relevance today
- Areas of application, and its effects on body, mind and soul
- The systematic structure of Yoga Nidra 1 and 2 according to Swami Satyananda
- Background and mode of action of each building block, including Sankalpa, rotation of awareness and breath awareness
- Designing and leading sessions, for individuals or groups, including within yoga classes
- Practical teaching tips, obstacles and contraindications
You will practise guiding Yoga Nidra in small groups, so you leave with real experience of leading, not only an understanding of the method. Afterwards you receive a detailed script and the certificate "KursleiterIn Yoga Nidra (23 UE)". The training totals 23 teaching units of 45 minutes each.
