Caroline Myss

Caroline Myss

American medical intuitive, contemporary mystic, and bestselling author whose books — Anatomy of the Spirit (1996), Sacred Contracts (2001), Why People Don't Heal and How They Can (1997), Entering the Castle (2007), and Defy Gravity (2009) — have made her one of the most influential figures in the convergence of energy medicine, archetypal psychology, and contemporary mystical Christianity. Born 1952 in Chicago, Myss developed in the 1980s a working partnership with the holistic physician C. Norman Shealy, MD, in which she would do medical-intuitive readings of patients she had never met; the published case studies and her later teaching synthesized chakra theory, the Christian sacraments, and Carlos Castaneda's notion of personal power into a coherent psycho-spiritual framework that remains widely used in alternative healing today. Her CMED Institute trains practitioners in archetypal-pattern reading; her audio courses and lectures are among the most-streamed in the genre.
