Deepak Chopra
Indian-American physician and author who has, more than any other figure, brought Vedic spiritual teachings into the mainstream Western consciousness. A former chief of staff at New England Memorial Hospital, he left conventional endocrinology in the 1980s after meeting Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and has since published more than 90 books selling over 70 million copies in 43 languages. The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, Quantum Healing, How to Know God, and dozens more have made the language of consciousness, intention, and the unified field part of common Western vocabulary. His later work integrates contemplative neuroscience, integrative medicine, and the perennial philosophy he learned from Maharishi.
