Snatam Kaur
Snatam Kaur is a world-renowned, Grammy-nominated devotional singer, touring musician, teacher, and author known for her luminous voice and the heartfelt depth of her music and teachings. For 25 years, Snatam has traveled the world sharing sacred chants and songs from her personal experiences and practices, helping audiences experience the transformative power of mantra. In 2026, she celebrates this extraordinary milestone with her most heartfelt tour yet, By Thy Grace: 25 Years of Mantra. Born in Trinidad, Colorado, Snatam was raised in the Sikh and Kundalini yoga tradition in a household and community rich with traditional Sikh music and chanting. Her mother, Prabhu Nam Kaur, is a Gurbani Kirtan singer, and growing up, Snatam learned how chanting, singing, and practicing Kundalini Yoga could be a deep source of strength. By the time she was in high school, she had adopted the practices, especially chanting, something she considered a huge blessing. Snatam lived her formative years in Sacramento and the Bay Area, often traveling with her family to India where she studied with Sikh musicians. Snatam began performing professionally in the late 1990s, finding her way from English-language songs to the traditional Sikh mantras that had sustained her since childhood. As she toured and recorded, she began teaching, feeling called to help people not only enjoy the music, but learn how to integrate chanting and daily spiritual practice into their own lives. This blossomed into her acclaimed 2016 book Original Light, and eventually her online school, Kirtan and Kundalini, which she co-founded with her husband Sopurkh Singh. The school offers weekly yoga, meditation, and sacred music classes, as well as courses in harmonium, Gurmukhi, and tabla, for a global community of seekers. Snatam continues to be guided by a personal daily practice of meditation and chanting. It is from this quiet space that all her music arises, and from which this special tour was born.
