Holly Honeychurch is a harpist, singer and composer, and describes herself as a sacred songstress. She builds what she calls musical galaxies from harp, voice and an array of special effects. She describes her style as cosmic, ethereal, sacred, healing, soothing and cinematic: a journey up to the stars and beyond, with hypnotic melodies and an other-worldly, angelic feel. She hopes listeners feel enveloped in a powerful, nurturing embrace.
Her first encounter with a harp came in the Netherlands in 2006, when she was staying in a house with two pedal harps and made a simple, sweet melody with one hand. She rented her first harp in 2016. After a couple of lessons she found she was more drawn to improvisation than sheet music, so she taught herself and developed a style of her own. Today she plays a 25-string Triplett therapy harp made of maple wood, named Laurë, which means mystical golden light in Elvish.
Holly creates her harp journeys by following melodies that move her, then free-flowing on the harp with no rules. Afterwards she shapes the recordings with reverb and adds soundscapes such as bird song, soft waves and whale calls. She has released two planetary albums, Planets I & Planets II, under the name La Navigatrice, and shares ambient and folk-inspired pieces too.
She records the Meditation Lights podcast and Late Nite Harp for music, and Fun with Miss Honeychurch for children. Her latest podcast, Catholic Prayerscape, pairs healing Catholic prayers with sacred harp music. Her Harp Therapy programmes include 5 Minute Sparkle, a 30-day course of short meditations with positive affirmations and a brief piece of healing harp music. She also teaches therapy courses on Insight Timer.
Holly lives by the sea in a friendly town in the north of England. She volunteers at Trinity Hospice, playing harp for people nearing the end of their lives.
Worth Knowing
Holly Honeychurch is a harpist, singer, and composer from the north of England who describes herself as a "sacred songstress"—a term that captures her blend of meditation teaching, harp therapy, and sonic artistry. She plays a 25-string Triplett therapy harp named Laurë (Elvish for "mystical golden light"), which she uses to create what she calls "musical galaxies"—layered soundscapes that combine hypnotic harp melodies, her own ethereal voice, and environmental textures like bird song, soft waves, and whale calls. What draws listeners is her distinctive approach to improvisation: she follows melodies that move her, recording freely without rules, then shapes the recordings with reverb and ambient layers to build immersive, cinematic journeys. Her work spans multiple formats—released albums like Planets I and Planets II (under her project name La Navigatrice), meditation podcasts, and accessible healing courses like 5 Minute Sparkle on Insight Timer. Beyond recordings, she volunteers at Trinity Hospice in her coastal town, playing harp for people at the end of life, embodying the healing mission that underlies all her work.
