Mie Glud Pedersen is a mindfulness and MBSR teacher based in Aarhus, Denmark, where she runs Mindfulness Works. She has practised meditation since 1993 and has taught mindfulness since 2008, and describes herself as a teacher with a daily meditation and mindfulness practice kept up over many years.
She trained as a mindfulness teacher at the Center for Mindfulness, UMass Medical School. She also completed Masterclass Training in Mindfulness in the Workplace at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, University of Oxford, which she says she was the first and only person in Denmark to do. She is also a trained psychomotor therapist (formerly called afspændingspædagog) and has a further education in neuropedagogy.
Through Mindfulness Works she offers evidence-based eight-week MBSR courses, individual mindfulness programmes, drop-in sessions, silent retreat days and retreats. Her courses and retreats take place in places such as Danmarks Japanske Have and Ørslev Kloster, and individual sessions take place in Lisbjerg. She also teaches courses, workshops and longer programmes at workplaces around Denmark. Her focus is on bringing more presence and inner calm into everyday life and working life.
She shares guided meditations, including body scans, on her website and on Insight Timer, and writes a blog with tips and articles on mindfulness research.
Worth Knowing
Mie Glud Pedersen is a mindfulness and MBSR teacher based in Aarhus, Denmark, where she runs Mindfulness Works. She has practised meditation since 1993 and has taught mindfulness since 2008, so her work rests on decades of personal practice rather than a recent interest. Her training is unusually broad for the field: she trained as a mindfulness teacher at the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School, completed the Masterclass Training in Mindfulness in the Workplace at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, and is a trained psychomotor therapist with further education in neuropedagogy. She describes herself as the first and only person in Denmark to complete the Oxford workplace masterclass. Students tend to value her because she keeps the work evidence-based and practical, with a focus on bringing more presence and inner calm into everyday life and working life. Her public guided meditations, including body scans, make her teaching accessible well beyond the courses she runs in person.
