Naomi Goodlet is a therapist and meditation teacher who believes that self-development is the new therapy, even though she is a therapist herself. She sees new health-supporting habits as something that can be found almost anywhere, from an Instagram reel to a second-hand book, a YouTube video, a journal, or a therapist's office. What matters to her is that each person applies what they learn, builds new habits and puts them into practice.
Her meditation work began in 2010, when she started recording mindfulness practices for her clients to listen to between sessions. She handed them out on CDs and flash drives, then moved them to YouTube, where, to her surprise, other people listened too. She has since released over 130 guided meditation practices, all free to listen to.
Naomi hosts the Imperfect Habits Podcast, which explores psychology, self-help, behaviour change and habits. Her YouTube channel brings together psychology, self-development and meditations.
In one-on-one therapy she draws on evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping), Polyvagal Therapy, Parts Work, Inner Child Work and Somatic Nervous System Regulation. She pairs them with affirming care, holding space and gentle challenge.
Her dream world is one where everyone has free and equitable access to resources that support wellbeing, healing and growth. That is why she shares wellbeing tips, recovery stories, meditation practices and psychoeducation on many self-help topics.
Worth Knowing
Naomi Goodlet is a therapist and meditation teacher who has quietly built one of the most generous repositories of free guided meditation practices online—over 130 recorded sessions, all available without paywall or gatekeeping. What sets her apart is that she didn't come to meditation from a purely spiritual lineage; she came from clinical training and practical psychology, and she built her meditation practice as an extension of therapeutic care. Starting in 2010, she recorded mindfulness practices for her therapy clients to deepen their work between sessions, shared them on CDs and flash drives, then moved to YouTube, where they found an audience far beyond her practice walls. Students respond to her because she treats meditation and habit formation as tools for actual change, not aspirational lifestyle content. She hosts the Imperfect Habits Podcast, which explores the psychology, behavior change, and self-help frameworks that underpin sustainable practice. For seekers who want meditation grounded in evidence-based psychology rather than purely spiritual aesthetics, her voice has become a steady presence.
