Sacred Earth

Sacred Earth is the duo of Penny and Jethro Williams, described on their website as Australia's internationally acclaimed mantra artists. Penny sings and plays ambient keyboards, while Jethro adds vocal harmonies and instrumental melodies on shakuhachi (Japanese flute), Indian bansuri, Irish tin and low whistles, and acoustic guitar.

For over two decades they have been refining their own contemporary expression of the ancient practice of chanting mantra and sharing songs of the heart. Their music weaves ancient mantras with melodious flutes and soothing harmonies, inviting listeners to reconnect with their core purpose and to attune to their innate wisdom.

They describe their live performances as moving the room to tears and smiles and leaving people with a deep sense of tranquility. In their words: "When we gather in the spirit of peace and share our hearts through sacred music, all distractions fade away; only silence remains."

Beyond the concert stage, Penny and Jethro host retreats, including their Into Your Heart retreats, where they share the life and practices that inspired the music. These include daily meditation, mantra singing, conscious movement, dance and fire ceremony. They have been playing as Sacred Earth for more than two decades and have toured internationally. Penny also leads a women's retreat, Sacred Womens Retreat, with friends.
